CVFiber is community-owned and operated Internet service

Fast, reliable Internet service is a necessary utility in today’s technological world. Access to many civic functions, social services, and commercial services is not possible without it. Plus it provides many other great benefits in instant communication, education, health, entertainment, and business and work opportunities.

Our Mission

CVFiber is a Communications Union District (CUD) municipal organization made up of twenty one (21) Central Vermont communities. We have a single goal: provide fast, dependable, and affordable Internet to every Vermonter within our member towns.

Our Technology

Fiber-optics is the best technology in the world at delivering Internet service to homes and businesses. Fiber Internet is up to 200x faster than other technologies commonly offered at this time.

Why do I need high gigabit speeds?

Higher speeds means less congestion on your network. Gig service ensures no lag time buffering when the entire family is streaming, surfing, and gaming at the same time. That said, there are several specific uses that benefit dramatically from the new fast pipe of data that gigabit connectivity offers.

Streaming video: All that bandwidth means lag-free streaming, even when your household is watching multiple shows on different devices simultaneously. High speed broadband eliminates the intermittent loading and buffering, you may experience on standard broadband.

Dozens of users: A family of four can max out a standard broadband connection quite easily with little more than a movie marathon and a round of multi-users gaming online, but gigabit speeds promise to support far more data simultaneously, making it possible to stream continuously.

Online gaming: Anyone who has ever lost a match due to a laggy connection will appreciate the switch to gigabit speeds. With matching up/down speeds, you’ll never again need to worry about slow ping rates and spotty connections.
