Effective August 16, 2024, NEK Broadband & CVFiber have united resources, expertise, and a shared commitment to deliver exceptional high-speed internet services to our 71 communities. Working together, we will be better able to support economic growth, community development, and digital equity across the Northeast Kingdom and Central Vermont.
The merged organization will combine the 51 municipal members of NEK and the 20 municipal members of CVF into a single group of 71 municipal members, all of whom will be represented on the Governing Board as specified in the Bylaws.

How CVFiber Operates
Governance
CVFiber is a municipality governed by representatives from each member town. The volunteer representatives are approved through their towns and become a voting member of the CVFiber Governing Board. Each member town is allotted an alternate representative as well in the event that the other representative is not present for voting matters.
CVFiber is a public entity and is therefore subject to open meeting laws per Vermont statute. CVFiber also has a handful of sub-committees tasked with specific important areas of governance. See our Governing Board page for more information about our structure, as well as our meeting agendas and minutes.
