CVFiber has officially been live for 6 months since our October 2024 launch! We are now installing in parts of Calais, East Montpelier, Worcester, and Middlesex.

Construction

Our final launch area for 2024 will include parts of Woodbury. We will be opening this area for Internet sign-ups as soon as we get closer, likely towards the end of the year.

240

Miles constructed

1,890

Premises have access to high-speed fiber Internet

16

Construction miles remaining for 2024

259

Additional homes and businesses will have access to high-speed fiber Internet

Where are we launching next in 2025?

Depends on funding. This decision will be made towards the end of the year.

Funding

CVFiber is currently looking into alternative funding sources. This will help drive the decision on where to construct next.

$19,789,930

CVFiber has been allocated VCBB construction grant funds totaling this amount, of which $18,147,253 has been received and is either expended or obligated.
$1,642,677

Remaining amount reserved at the Vermont Community Broadband Board (VCBB).
$863,000

Amount CVFiber received in 2023 in funding from individual town ARPA funds, that will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the VCBB providing a total of $1.6 million to be spent in contributing towns.
As of april 9, 2024

Installations

With warmer weather in the forecast, we are restarting installations for customers who have existing buried conduit and may require rodding. For customers who require new conduit, we’ve sent an email notification with next steps required prior to scheduling their installation.

Additional information can be found on our website: https://cvfiber.net/conduit-specs/

Customers

We have more than 200 customers installed throughout our 4 launch areas.

Installation rate

In partnership with Waitsfield Champlain Valley Telecom (WCVT), installations continue at an average rate of 15 installations per week.

Forecasting

If you’ve selected your Internet package with CVFiber, you are on our installation waitlist. We predict to have these connections installed by October 2024.
