Montpelier, Vermont – With the first leaves changing color, CVFiber is now able to offer brand new service to parts of Woodbury that have been unserved or underserved by high-speed internet. We are also providing service to addresses beyond our existing network in Calais. This expansion will complete the 2024 construction phase of our fiber optic network. Planning is well underway for 2025’s increase in the number of addresses that will have access to CVFiber.
For residents and business owners in Woodbury and Calais who now have access, site surveys are in process to determine the amount of fiber optic line needed to reach from the nearest utility pole – on a town or state road – to buildings along the route. For addresses where site surveys have been completed, installations have now begun.
Where service is now available, those who pre-registered on the CVFiber website should have received an email and can sign up for their preferred internet package. For those who have not pre-registered, please visit CVFiber.com to see if your address is eligible for service.
New customers will find technical support 24/7.
“What a huge deal, fiber high-speed internet arriving in Woodbury! No more driving to the Town Office to use the hotspot there. Much of Woodbury is too rural to be of interest to commercial high-speed internet providers,” says John Reid, CVFiber Board Member representing Woodbury. “CVFiber, our regional non-profit municipal entity, is making it possible for those of us who live ‘off the beaten path’ to have high-speed internet access for work, education and recreation.”
Installations continue in areas of previously launched towns including East Montpelier, Middlesex, and Worcester. Find out whether your address is on a completed route by going to CVFiber.com.
