Connecting to CVFiber’s High Speed Fiber Network
The first step in becoming a CVFiber Customer is to sign up for service availability updates by completing our online pre-registration system. We will contact you when service is available in your neighborhood. You will then be able to subscribe and choose a service.
When we receive your subscription request, we will do an initial survey of your property to determine how you will be connected to the service, that is, whether fiber will be strung from the pole to your house, which is also known as an aerial or standard drop, or whether the fiber will need to be buried in conduit. Once the fiber has been run from the nearest CVFiber power pole to the box on the side of your home or business, we will call you to schedule installation of the equipment inside your home or business.
CVFiber will make a standard aerial drop from the nearest fiber power pole to the box on the outside of your house or business and install a standard WiFi router inside your premises at the then current installation rate. If your site survey finds that you will need an underground buried drop, additional fees may apply. Note: the customer is responsible for making arrangements for and the cost of burying conduit.
The location of the outside box is typically attached to the side of the building closest to the fiber power pole. If you want it attached in a specific location on the building, please inform the technician when they are doing their survey. After the drop is connected to the enclosure, the technician will then install the indoor equipment. At this time, the technician will ask if you want us to assess the WiFi strength in various locations in the building or buildings. The technician will make a recommendation of any additional equipment that would provide the best reliable service within the building(s).
After I subscribe, how long does it take to get connected?
If you are in an available service area, and if you have a standard aerial drop, we will get you scheduled as soon as possible based on the waitlist in your area. If you require an underground connection, that will take longer as you are responsible for arranging and paying for the cost of underground conduit.
